Himachal has sought release of funds amounting to Rs. 91 crore for purchase of buses under JNURM-II scheme.
Transport Minister G.S. Bali, in a meeting with M. Venkaiah Naidu, Union Minister for Urban Development at his Delhi residence, also demanded to release Rs.63 crore for developmental works and repairs of bus stands and HRTC workshops.
Union Minister for Urban Development held detailed discussions on the JNURM-II and he directed Secretary Ministry of Urban Development to look into the matter personally and take necessary steps for release of funds to the Himachal Pradesh at the earliest.
Madhusudan Prasad, Secretary, Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India, Ajay Mittal, Additional Chief Secretary, Transport Himachal Pradesh and Ashok Tewari, Managing Director HRTC were also presented at the meeting.
