The stalemate in the Monsoon Session of the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha between the opposition and the ruling party continued for the third day with the former demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh.
BJP members demanded suspension of all work of the house and discussion on the Delhi High Court proceedings in the money laundering case being probed against the Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister.
As the house assembled, BJP member Thakur Mohinder Singh questioned Speaker Brij Bihari Lal Butail about the permission granted to the Chief Minister replying on the issue about the Court proceeding while BJP’s notice for an adjournment motion was rejected yesterday.
Opposition BJP also raised question over granting permission to murder accused legislature to remain absent from the ongoing session of the assembly in the absence of opposition, which BJP termed as violation of house rules.
The speaker requested the BJP members to allow the proceedings of the house to continue. But the opposition members raised slogans against the chief minister in the midst of question hour.
As BJP refused to relent the speaker adjourned the house.
