Shimla: Protesting against the National Green Tribunal order of imposing permit system to cross the Rohtang Pass, Lahaul Spiti Student Association (LSSA) HPU Campus has demanded complete revocation of it and threatens to intensify their agitation if their demand wasn’t met.
Virender Thakur, LSSA President, accused the state government for taking indifferent attitude towards the residents of Lahaul Spiti. In his statement, Thakur stated that the Chief Minister and his Council of Ministers should not ignore the angry voice of the Lahaul Spiti residents.
Student Association also slammed political leaders of the region for failing to protect the interest of the local people. Association stated that the NGT order was passed on February 6, 2014 and surprisingly local leaders hadn’t done anything substantial over it.
LSSA also threaten to intensify their protest and take it to the school and college level.
Lahaul Spiti Student Association will also submit memorandum to Governor of Himachal Pradesh tomorrow.
