To ensure avoidance of Beas like tragedy, the Himachal Pradesh government has decided to cover two-three kilometers Dams area with fence.
In a review meeting of MPP & Power and Non Conventional Energy Sources department, CM Virbhadra Singh has directed the department to ensure strict implementation of safety norms and also directed to take extra-precautions for averting any mishap in future while discharging water from all dams in the State.
Department was directed to install proper sign boards at such areas besides covering other sensitive and dangerous zones with fences. Now before releasing the water, project authority will also have to announce through vehicles down the stream besides use of hooters.
Power Minister Sujan Singh Pathania, Chief Secretary P. Mitra, Additional Chief Secretary V.C Pharka, Principal Secretary MPP& Power SKBS Negi, Director, Energy R.D Nazeem, Special Secretary Finance K.R Bharati, Chairman HPSEB P.C Negi, Managing Director, HPPCL D.K Sharma, Managing Director HPTCL J.C Sharma were also present at the meeting.
