Kullu: Forest Minister Thakur Singh Bharmouri today inspected the furniture workshop and show room of Forest Department and Forest Corporation at Shamshi in Kullu district and directed the officers to manufacture quality furniture at reasonable rates so that it could compete in the market.
Earlier, he visited Banjar where he listened to the public grievances in presence of local MLA Shri Karan Singh. He also listened to the grievances of the people of Ani, Jalori, Soja, Larji, Kasaul and Sharabai and directed the concerned officers for their redressal. He also directed the Corporation to develop more facilities at Narkanda and Jalori nature camps so that more tourists could visit these places.
He assured the people of Jalori that their demand for construction of Jalori-Sulosar road would be considered sympathetically.
The Forest Minister was welcomed at Kullu by local MLA Maheshwar Singh who raised the issue of rights of the stakeholders and sheep rearers of Great Himalayan National Park.
Later, he presided over the function organized by the Kullu Hoteliers Association.
Kewal Singh Pathania, Vice Chairman of the State Forest Corporation and other senior officers of the Forest Department and Corporation accompanied the Minister.
