To take stock of the preparedness of the State for the disaster management, a meeting of the Himachal Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority would be held on 11th July, 2014 at Shimla.
Vice Chairman, H.P State Disaster Management Board, Rajinder Rana, in his press communiqué, disclosed the Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh would preside over the meeting and detailed discussions would also be held on the relief and rescue work plan.
Rana said that all the Deputy Commissioners had been directed to organize the meeting of district disaster management committees and send their report for relief and rescue operations of their respective districts. He added that as per the directions of the Chief Minister, all the Deputy Commissioners had also been asked to set up warning signing boards at identified places besides taking up other preventative measures.
Rana said that the disaster management was being strengthened in the State keeping in view the changing weather conditions so that district administrations could be wakeful and well prepared to deal with the disaster.
Revenue Minister Kaul Singh Thakur, Chief Secretary P. Mitra and senior officers of the State government would attend this meeting.
