A spokesman of the State Government said that all Panchayat Sahayaks and Panchayat Secretaries should adhere to the provisions of Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj (General) Rules, 1997 while preparing the family details in ‘Parivar Registrar’ of concerned gram sabha. He said that Panchayat Secretaries should clearly mention the names and entry of persons, family-wise, who were the residents of that village or the area of the same was the part of respective Gram Panchayat, which should be attested by Panchayat Inspector of the concerned block. The entries of only ‘actual residents’ should be made in the Family Register. The term ‘actual residents’ mean the person who has permanent home in Himachal Pradesh or was staying in the State for the last 25 years or the persons who has a permanent home in Himachal Pradesh but was serving out of the State for earning livelihood.

He said that if any wrong entry had been done in ‘Parivar Register’ of any such person who does not come under the term actual resident, unintentionally, the person would be given an opportunity to be heard and thereby the mistake if any, would be rectified in Gram Sabha meetings.

All Deputy Commissioners, District Panchayat officers, Block Development Officers will pass necessary directions to all Panchayat Sahayaks and Panchayat Secretaries so that proposal could be discussed in monthly Gram Sabha meeting.
