Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi addressed a rally at Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh. While addressing the party workers and followers, Gandhi termed the Lok Sabha elections as a battle of ideologies.
Gandhi stated that the Congress stood for empowering people and has taken many decision to empower them.
While attacking opposition and its PM candidate Narender Modi, Gandhi accused BJP for pursuing the politics of hatred to divide the people on communal, caste, creed and regional lines.
Rahul added that BJP talks of Hinduism but acts against the spirit of Bhagwad Gita which preached love and brotherhood.
He also accused Modi for usurping the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and recalled the Congress stalwart’s description of RSS as “a venomous organisation” which could “finish” the country.
Earlier, he interacted with about 300 ex-servicemen at the DRPGMC, Tanda. However, Vijay Singh Mankotia, prominent Congress leader and president of the Ex-servicemen League of the state, was absent from Rahul’s interaction programme and rally.
Most of Congress leaders were present at the function.
