Shimla: The State Chief Information Commission mulling to avoid unnecessarily wasting the time and manpower and money spent on stationery of Government and has directed all the departments of the State Government not to make unnecessary correspondence with the Commission.
A spokesperson of the Commission revealed that the State Chief Information Commissioner has observed that some Public Authorities, Public Information Officers and First Appellate Authorities in various departments are addressing/endorsing copies of decisions taken by them, correspondence made with RTI applicants, fee information etc. and other miscellaneous letters to the Commission.
He said that all the Administrative Secretaries to the Government of Himachal Pradesh already have been intimated by the Administrative Reforms Department. The Commission is acting as a Quasi-Judicial Court and no general correspondence is to be entertained unnecessarily.
