The issues of Vakamulla Chandersekhar association with Virbhadra Singh, Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh and shares of his family members in Tarini Infrastructure Limited are not looking to die down as after state the BJP, now its national leader has raised these issues with Prime minister.
In a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Arun Jaitley accused Virbhadra Singh of corruption and claimed that he had extended favours to a power company in exchange for monetary compensation to him and his family.
Jaitley said a hydel power company, Venture Energy and Technology Private Limited (VETPL), was given an extension of 10 months by Singh’s Cabinet to complete a hydel power project in Sai Kothi, even as the company had defaulted in the past. The BJP leader claimed that this favour was extended as part of a deal between the Power Company and Singh.
Like state BJP leaders and Arun Thakur, younger son of Prem Kumar Dhumal, Jaitley accused Virbhadra Singh for concealing facts from his election affidavits.
BJP senior leader has demanded an immediate investigation form the Income Tax authorities and the CBI and also demanded PM to look into this matter for appropriate action.
Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh has denied the charges and clarified that it was previous BJP government, who gave extension to power company twice from 2007 to 2012. He said that BJP leaders are worried from the inquires of their misdeed and now blaming him to divert the attention of common public.
