Governor Urmila Singh administered the oath of office to Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir as the Judge of Himachal Pradesh High Court in a simple but impressive ceremony held at Rajbhawan here today. Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh was also present on the occasion.
P Mitra, Officiating Chief Secretary conducted the proceedings and read out the warrant of appointment. According to the notification, Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir would perform the duties of the office of Chief Justice of H P High Court from the date he assumed the charge of his office.
Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir was born on 25th April 1955 at village Rajpora, District Pulwama. He did his LLB in 1978 and joined Higher Judicial Services in 1992. He was sworn in as additional judge of J & K High Court on 31st January 2005 and appointed as Permanent Judge of J & K High Court on 7th July 2007.
