Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said that the State Government was giving given added attention for providing roads, drinking water, electricity, health, educational institutes and other basic amenities to the people of hard, remote and tribal areas of the State. He was addressing a public meeting at Kwar in Shimla district, today.
He said that the State Government had formed Sub-Cadre for all tribal and hard areas of the State in which Dodra-Kwar Sub-Division, Jabal, Khabal, Pekha, Tangnu, Janglik, Dundi, Mehala, Sindasli, Dagoli, Rohal, Ranol, Kharshali, Gaonsari, Diswani, Dakgaon panchayats of Chauhara Block of Rohru Sub-Division in Shimla district, had also been included. It would be ensured that all functional posts in various departments were filled in tribal, hard and far-flung areas. The government was according priority to fill all vacant posts in such areas so as to ensure speedy development and better facilities to the people.
Chief Minister said that out of five gram panchayats of the area, Kwar, Dodra and Dhamwari had been provided road facility whereas efforts would be made to connect remaining Jiskoon and Jakha panchayats with road before next winters. He said Jiskoon and Jakha panchayats would also be inter-connected with road facility.
He announced for construction of new building for Government Senior Secondary School (Girls), Kwar and Rest House at Kwar. He said motorable road would be constructed upto Sewa Dogri from Naitwar in Uttrakhand which would provide all weather road facility to the people of Dodra and Kwar. He also directed for soling of road from SDM office to helipad ground within six months.
Chief Minister said Senior Secondary School had been sanctioned for Jiskoon which would be made functional from next academic year.
Virbhadra Singh said that it was Congress Government which provided road facility to the Dodra-Kwar. He accused the previous BJP Government for completely neglecting the development of hard areas like Dodra and Kwar.
Earlier, the Chief Minister paid obeisance at Kwar-Jakha Devta temple. He also inaugurated artificial insemination centre at Kwar. Chief Minister also listened to the public grievances and directed the administration to dispose them on priority.
Virbhadra Singh was accorded rousing welcome at various places by Panchayat representatives, Mahila Mandals, Yuvak Mandals and local people during his visit to the area. MLA Mohal Lal Brakta, thanked the Chief Minister for announcing road facility, Senior Secondary School and re-tendering of Theog-Kharapattar road. He also thanked for giving pace to all developmental works in the area.
Block Congress Committee President Ishwar Dass Chhoharu thanked the Chief Minister for giving special attention for the development of the area. Vice Chairman of Chhohara Panchayat Samiti Virender Dhariwal welcomed the Chief Minister while Pradhan Gram Panchayat Jakha Kavi Singh proposed vote of thanks. Member, BoD, Forest Corporation Surender Retka, Deputy Commissioner Dinesh Malhotra, SP Abhishek Dullar, Chief Engineer, PWD D.K. Nayyar and other prominent persons of the area were present on the occasion.
