Himachal Pradesh Congress has intensified their attacks on Anurag Thakur and one after other Congress leaders were taking potshot at HPCA president. Earlier, yesterday Anurag had accused Virbhadra Singh for allegedly trying to taking over the HPCA and his supporters had forcefully entered at the Dharamshala vigilance office and created unruly scene and even busted fire crackers in the office.
Ridiculing the Thakur and his supporters act, Congress leaders Prakash Chaudhary, Excise and Taxation Minister, Himachal Pradesh Urban Development Minister Sudhir Sharma and Chief Parliamentary Secretary Neeraj Bharti and Jagjivan Pal had advised Thakur to refrain from behaving like a child.
Sudhir Sharma believed it as a political drama and was done to gain cheap publicity, whereas other congress leaders including Bawa Hardeep Singh, Chairman, Himachal Pradesh Buildings and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board and Kewal Singh Pathania, Vice Chairman, Himachal Pradesh Forest Development Corporation have ridiculed the statement of Anurag Thakur, which was made during his address and termed it politically motivated and beyond truth.
In a joint statement issued here today in Shimla, Bawa Hardeep Singh and Pathania advised Anurag Thakur to introspect before making false allegations against any body. They said that Anurag Thakur should tell the people of the State that how many persons were Himachalis in Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association and how many youth had been benefited from the Association. They alleged that Anurag Thakur was misleading the innocent people of the State besides fulfilling his selfish political motives. They said that HPCA was a group of businessmen of Jalandhar who were doing business under the banner of HPCA.
Congress leaders said that HPCA had constructed Hotel Pavilion at Dharamshala at a cost of Rs. 50 crore and Anurag Thakur had made a special room by spending Rs. 70 lakh for himself in this hotel. They said that it seems that even Rs. 25 crore had not been spent for construction of this Hotel. They asked Anurag Thakur to disclose about the source of money from where he had got it. They said that the construction work of this hotel was given to ‘Lock Wood’ an international Company without inviting tenders and a Committee led by Arun Dhumal was constituted to supervise the construction work.
Bawa Hardeep Singh and Pathania said that Prem Thakur, Senior Manager, UCO Bank, Vishal Marwah of HPCA and Atar Singh, Agriculture Inspector posted at Poanta visited China without any permission for purchasing furniture for this Hotel and expenses of the visit were borne by Star Merchantil Company. They asked Anurag to disclose on what status this Company had spent such huge money on this visit and how the Government officers visited as foreign without seeking any official permission.
They asked Anurag that whether he believes in law of the land or not as it seems from his utterances that he consider himself above of the law. They said that Anurag Thakur and his colleagues had committed fraudulent means by illegally occupying the land under the garb of HPCA. They said that HPCA had also constructed a stadium at Bilaspur by spending Rs. six crore and this land was registered on the name of Bhakra Beas Management Board even today.
Congress leaders advised Anurag to go through the facts before issuing any statement as people of the State were aware enough to judge the wrong doings committed by HPCA.
