Congress workers are making Dharamshala ready to welcome its two Union Ministers Virbhadra Singh and Anand Sharma. Thousands of Congress workers are gathering at Dharamshala to make rally successful, however few supporters to their loyal faction are trying to make Dharamshala rally as a place to show the mass support in Himachal to authenticate their authority before the forthcoming election.

However, the fight of supremacy in Himachal Congress is not new, many of its popular faces have dragged matter in public on many occasions. From the last couple of decades, Vidya Stokes, Anand Sharma Ram Lal Thakur, Sukh Ram and Kaul Singh Thakur had challenged Virbhadra Singh for the top post, but their efforts had not succeeded, but invariably had cost Congress dearly many times.

This time again, battle of supremacy is going around in Himachal Congress, but few party leaders have left this to party Chief Sonia Gandhi to decide the name of the chief ministerial candidate.

Senior Congress leader G S Bali made it clear that Congress is preparing for the forthcoming assembly election and the decision regarding the chief ministerial candidate in Himachal Pradesh will be taken only by Sonia Gandhi after the state elections. In the history of Congress, party had not declared Chief Minister Candidate before election and party named leader after due consultation with winning MLA’s and other prominent leaders of the state. Virbhadra Singh had headed Congress led Govt., from 1983, and this time again making round for the post. However, leader of opposition Vidya Stokes, State Party Chief Kaul Singh Thakur and Union Minister Anand Sharma are giving him tough time, but in a politics of opportunity, nothing can be predicted before final vote count.
