BJP leader and former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal has served a legal notice to Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee chief Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for public rhetoric against him and his parliamentarian son Anurag Thakur from past few months.
Dhumal, through his counsel, has asked Congress state president to tender an unconditional and unqualified apology, failing which he would take a legal course. Sukhu had also been asked to admit that his imputations published in various papers were false and incorrect.
In the legal notice, the Dhumal’s counsel maintained that the statements of Sukhu published in various daily newspapers, in which he had levelled serious allegations on Dhumal, were baseless, false and defamatory.
The notice states that Sukhu had alleged that leader of opposition Prem Kumar Dhumal had patronized corrupt and also sold out resources of the state.
Dhumal has termed these statements concocted and said the statements were made to defame his image and to gain cheap publicity.
