Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh indicated to explore the possibility to shift main Subzi Mandi, Shimla to some nearby suitable place like Darni-ka-Bagicha or near Himland building, Tutikandi. It would facilitate the growers, Aarties (Bulk buyers) and the consumers, as apart from adequate loading and un-loading space it would also provide an open space for parking.
Chief Minister indicated it while listening to the demand in this regard by a delegation of the Executive Body of Shimla Tehsil Gramin Vikas Sabha, Dhami led by Chairman Ramesh Pant who called on the Chief Minister at Oak-Over here today.
Chief Minister said that it would also help in decongestion of Shimla town. He said that other demands of Vikas Sabha Dhami such as shifting of Development Block from Mashobra to Totu to facilitate the people of 27 panchayats of Shimla Rural Constituency, opening of PWD Division at Dhami and Government Degree College at 16 Mile would also be considered sympathetically.
The delegation congratulated the Chief Minister on victory of Congress candidate Pratibha Singh from Mandi Parliamentary Constituency bye-election by a record margin. They said that the people of Shimla Rural consider themselves fortunate as their Assembly seat was represented by the veteran, six times Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh. They said that Congress Party came to power in the State because of his able leadership, hard work and experience. They said that though Virbhadra Singh could not spare much time to canvass in this constituency yet people elected him by huge margin.
The delegation thanked the Chief Minister for accelerating the pace of development in their constituency and opening of Sub-Tehsil at Dhami, I.T.Is in Dargi and Jalog and up-gradation of many schools during past six months. They also thanked the Chief Minister to re-start the construction of multi-purpose stadium at Kutasni which was stalled by the previous BJP Government.
