Himachal Pradesh Red Cross Hospital Welfare Section Shimla will organise Red Cross Fair at Padam Dev Complex, The Ridge, Shimla on 8th June, 2013. Vice Chairperson of Indian Red Cross Society, Himachal Pradesh and Chairperson, H.P. Red Cross Hospital Welfare Section Pratibha Singh disclosed this here today while presiding over the meeting of the Hospital Welfare Section to review the arrangements of the Fair.
She said that H.P. Red Cross had been rendering valuable services for the cause of suffering humanity. Various activities were being undertaken by the Red Cross to create awareness amongst the masses and efforts were afoot to spread these activities to the rural and far flung areas. She said that the funds generated through such activities were being utilized for providing help to the poor and needy besides providing immediate relief to the victims of natural disasters.
Pratibha Singh said that 25 stalls would be set up during the Red Cross Fair. Various activities like flower show, baby show, referral draw, dog show, skill games, exhibitions based on handloom and Ayurvedic products etc. would be organised on the occasion. Besides, cultural programmes, lucky dip and horse riding and various other activities would also be organized to attract the tourists. She added that prizes would also be given to the winners of various competitions and the best stalls.
She thanked the Chief Minister for presenting a cheque of Rs. 11 lakh to the Red Cross Society.
Deputy Commissioner, Shimla Dinesh Malhotra assured all possible help from the district administration for organising this event.
General Secretary, H.P. Red Cross Society, Anita Tegta, Honorary Secretary of the Hospital Welfare Section Poonam Chauhan, other office bearers and members and representatives of various departments were present in the meeting.
