President Pranab Mukherjee, as part of his three days visit to Himachal Pradesh, will reach Shimla today. President will stay here upto 25.

On 24th May, Mukherjee will address the Members of Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha and on the same day, he will inaugurate the Tagore Centre for the Study of Culture and Civilization and deliver the first Rabindranath Tagore Memorial Lecture at Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla.

He will also attend the annual convocation of Himachal Pradesh University on the same day, where he’ll confer 272 doctorate degrees, including the most prestigious degree in doctorate of science, besides 244 gold medals and prizes. There are two luminaries including Nagaland Governor and former CBI director Ashwani Kumar, who hails from Nahan, HP and Vice chancellor of Lucknow’s Baba Sahib Bhimrao Ambedkar Central University R.C. Sobti will be conferred with honorary doctorate by President.

On May 25, the President will be chief guest at the inaugural function of Maharaja Agrasen University at Kalujhanda, Solan.
