Transport minister G S Bali vowed to provide better facilities to commuters in Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) buses and mulling to induct 300 new buses in its fleet.
Minister said that being only reliable source of transportation in rural area, HRTC is working to improve efficiency in functioning. Bali said the stoppage of long route buses would be monitored and it would be ensured that they stop only at identified places where facilities like toilets, good sanitary condition and hygienic food at reasonable rates are available.
Bali, who also holds the portfolio of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, said that the state government has decided to give three pulses and mustard oil to Above Poverty Line (APL) ration card holders at subsidised rates.
He slammed BJP for their remarks against him over multi brand retail and assured that it won’t hurt small and marginal traders. He added that even multi retail brands will help to increase employment opportunities in state. He accused BJP for misleading public over the opening of multi brand retail in state and advised them to stop their malicious propaganda.
