Principal Secretary, PWD, Narender Chauhan revealed that the Government of India has accorded approval for Rs. 285.75 crore to the State under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) for construction of 19 new roads and three bridges besides mettaling and tarring of 122 roads in the State under World Bank Rural Road project.
Chauhan said that the Government was according top priority to the construction of roads under various schemes especially in the rural areas. The State Government had fixed the target to construct 515 kms of road length and 35 bridges during the current financial year in the State. Besides, 80 villages would be provided road connectivity this year.
