Health Minister Kaul Singh Thakur announced to dedicate super-specialty hospital building at the Dr Rajender Prasad Government Medical College (DRPGMC), Tanda in September this year.
The super-specialty hospital building at the Tanda Hospital is coming up with a Rs 150-crore and its foundation stone was laid by Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad on November 24, 2010.
The Health Minister said that the six super-specialty departments would include radio oncology, cardiology, cardio vascular thoraxic surgery, nephrology, gastroenterology and neuro-surgery departments.
He said the process of appointments of super-specialists too had started. Some doctors working at the Tanda hospital had already got super-specialisation in some specialities and would help the hospital to be functional by June next year.
The Health Minister said 300 doctors, 350 nurses and 840 male health workers would be appointed and efforts of the government were to provide specialist facilities at every first referral unit in the state.
Health Minister was in the town as chief guest on the Connexus Students annual day programme.
