To ensure strict adherence to environmental laws and norms ,the State Pollution Control Board has issued show-cause notices to about 45 industries, private universities and stone crushers for violating environmental norms and operating without getting due sanction from the concerned authorities.

The violators have been given time to obtain the necessary permissions and environmental clearances from the Pollution Control Board by March 31.

In case they fail to obtain the necessary sanctions, they will be panelised as per law, which even includes closure of their units and disconnecting their power and water supply.
