Vice Chairman of HRTC, Kewal Singh Pathania today met the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Vijay Bahuguna at Dehradun and urged him for opening a separate Inter-State counter for HRTC buses at Haridwar Bus stand to facilitate the people of the State who otherwise had to cover a lot of distance from Haridwar by-pass or its outskirts to reach Har-ki-Pauri for performing rituals of their kin in Holy Ganges.
He requested the Uttarkhand Chief Minister that since lot many people travel everyday to and from Haridwar, the opening of the Counter and providing rest room for the drivers and conductors of HRTC buses would be of great help to the people of Himachal Pradesh.
He said that earlier the HRTC counter existed at Haridwar bus stand but in-between this facility was withdrawn. He also advocated for providing land on lease for setting up an inn (Sarai) for people of Himachal visiting Haridwar.
Pathania said that Bahuguna had called for a meeting of Uttrakhand transport authorities at his residence on 9th March, 2013 and had assured to fulfill the demand on priority.
