Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh indicated to fill up two vacant cabinet posts before the budget session. While talking to the mediapersons here before leaving for New Delhi, Singh said that Govt will add six or seven Chief Parliamentary Secretaries and Parliamentary Secretaries during the exercise and more chairpersons appointed in due course. He also made clear that portfolios of ministers will not change.
He said that he will meet the Prime Minister, Central ministers and Central Congress leaders to pursue various matters during his stay in New Delhi. He said that he would take up the matter of expediting work on rail projects with Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal.
He said he would also apprise Centre about the issue of resuming flights to Kullu, Dharamsala and Shimla as well and will ask the Center to start it as early as possible. He added that the issue of releasing arrears of the claim in Bhakra-Beas Management Board projects amounting to over Rs 4,250 crore is also on his list and will ask center to settle it in accordance with the Supreme Court judgments. To accelerate the pace of industrialisation in the state, Singh said he would urge the revival of the industrial package at least in a modified form.
