Chief Electoral Officer Narinder Chauhan said that Election Commission of India has issued notification to conduct the Vidhan Sabha Election-2012 in respect of all the 68 Assembly Constituencies.
Chauhan said that the process of filing nomination had started and the last date for filing nomination was 17 October, 2012. Scrutiny of the nominations would be done on 18 October, 2012 while last date for withdrawal of candidature is 20 October, 2012.
He said that polling would be held on 4 November, 2012 between 8.00 AM to 5.00PM and counting of votes would be done on 20th December, 2012 from 8.00AM. Election process will be completed by 24th December,2012, he added.
