To assess the loss due to recent hailstorms in Jubbal –Kotkhai and Rampur areas of Shimla district, a meeting was convened under the Chairmanship of Horticulture Minister Narinder Bragta. The meeting was attended by senior officers of Horticulture department.
The minister issued directions to Revenue and Horticulture departments for appropriate action in this regard. He said that the fruit growers of the areas who were badly affected due to this natural calamity would be provided 50 percent subsidy on insecticides, fungicides and plants inputs.
He said that the officials of the department were assessing the loss of the affected areas and urged the officials of the revenue department to visit these areas and submit the damage report at the earliest. He also directed to provide relief as per the Relief Manual to the farmers and horticulturists.
Horticulture Minister said that specialists from Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni would be visiting the affected areas and advised the farmers to take appropriate measures in this regard.
