A day after Chief Minister announced sops for state employees, opposition Congress termed the Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister’s initiative a move to appease voters for the upcoming Assembly elections.

Senior Congress leader GS Bali said the announcements made by the BJP-ruled government on Independence Day would put unnecessary burden on the state treasury. Dhumal had announced a seven per cent hike in dearness allowance to employees and pensioners at a function in Kullu along with other benefits. He also claimed that many of them are factually wrong. Bali said that in many schemes Govt has tried to implicate centre Govt and if they got rejected from the Center Govt then BJP will try to put all the blame them.

GS Bali said that Chief Minister is also in a rush to inaugurate various development works in the state as Assembly elections are nearing. However, whatever BJP do now, but cannot return to the power, he added. Bali said that in the last four years BJP led Govt has given nothing to the common people and in the poll year it turn to the public and offering various sops to appease them for the election only.
