A deputation of Nihri area of Mandi district led by Thakur Roop Singh, MLA, Sundernagar met Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal at Vidhan Sabha here today and thanked him of announcement of Degree College, Nihri in Sundernagar assembly constituency of Mandi district. The deputation said that with the opening of the college at Nihri, the long pending demand of the people of the area had been met out which would provide higher educational facilities to the students of the area nearer to their home.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister said that State Government was committed to provide educational facilities to the people of the State at their door steps. He said that road, education and health was on the priority agenda of the Government and added that all-out efforts were afoot to provide these facilities to the people nearer their homes. He also directed that classes in all the four colleges recently announced for Mandi district viz. Ladbhadol, Nihri, Rewalsar and Baldwara should be started from this academic session.
