A delegation of Pradhans of Gram panchayats, Sumara, Chango, Nako, Leo and Hango and office bearers of Hangrang Valley Sangharsh Samiti, led by MLA Tejwant Singh Negi, met the Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and urged him to carry thorough geographical and feasibility investigations in respect of the execution of proposed Chango-Yangthang and Yangthang-Khab Hydro Electric Projects in upper region of district Kinnaur, and defer its implementation till the time any appropriate agency prepare the feasibility report based on loose sandy strata in the region which could cause immense damage to life and property in the event of any natural eventuality.
Chief Minister assured the delegation that the State Government would be take all precautionary measures before permitting execution of hydel projects and also honour the wishes of local people. He appealed to the people of the area to cooperate in execution of various developmental projects in their area so that people were benefited of the programmes and policies of the Government in the remotest corners of the State.
Another delegation from Burua, Shoud, Ramni, Warang and Ropa Gram Panchayats also headed by local MLA, Tejwant Singh Negi, urged the Chief Minister to upgrade various educational institutions in their panchayats to facilitate higher educational facilities to the children at their doorsteps. Chief Minister directed the concerned authorities to take appropriate steps to redress their grievances and conduct survey to upgrade of educational institutions.
