First elected Youth Congress president Vikramaditya Singh, whose election was null and void by FAME, got support from Youth Congress leaders from the Mandi parliamentary constituency. Mandi Youth Congress leaders have pledged their support to him and urged Youth Congress national secretary Amit Punia to restore Vikramaditya’s election as the state president of the youth wing.
Youth leaders pleaded that Vikramaditya Singh has won election fairly and FAME’s decision was wrong and one-sided. Youth leaders alleged that FAME worked for some Congress leaders who want to score their personal grudges against Virbhadra Singh. They elaborated that “voices of internal party democracy” were being scuttled at the behest of some “anti-party activists” at a time when elections were round the corner.
Amit Punia is on his Himachal visit to strengthen the Himachal youth Congress wing and many of elected Youth congress leaders has indicated that it is not possible to unite the youth of Himachal without its elected leader.
