An important meeting of all the government and non governmental organizations of Manali sub –division was convened today at Manali by District Police to discuss the problems of traffic jams and recurring incidents of accidents in and around Rohtang pass. The meeting was presided over by SP Kullu Ashok Kumar and attended by Hoteliers, unions of taxi, bus, three wheelers snow scooters, truck union, Para gliders, BRO and representatives of Tunnel company and hydel projects. While addressing the meeting SP Kullu apprised all the representatives of the unions that identity card has been made mandatory to all the people related with tourist and snow activities at Rohtang. However those violating the rules and misbehaving with tourists will not be spared and will be punished. He added that to control accidents and traffic jams additional forces will be deployed and outside vehicles will not be allowed to ply beyond certain point. SP Kullu has appealed to all the citizens of Manali to cooperate the local administration and police so that smooth traffic may be maintained and law and order not disturbed
