Annandale ground controversy gets another turn as BJP general secretary J.P. Nadda has said that the state government has no proposal to set up a stadium there. Nadda said
‘The government and the BJP only talked about getting the Annandale back from the army. There has been no proposal from the government side for a cricket stadium; Things have been read too much between the lines. Once the ground comes back to the state, the government would then decide on it pragmatically,’
Nadda also added that the BJP government also respects army and ready to provide it all the facilities required in the national interest. His statement came after senior leader and BJP national vice president Shanta Kumar as he has said that ‘national security is more important than a cricket ground’ and also urged political leaders to refrain from making any unnecessary statement over Army.
