In a meeting of H.P. Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, Chairman Ashok Purohit said that five awareness campaigns beginning from November would be organized at five different places in the State. He said that this is a special drive for the welfare of workers engaged in building and other construction works and their registration under Health Insurance and other Schemes.
Purohit said that District level camps would be organised under this campaign. The officers of Labour and Employment Department, various Trade Unions and representatives of NGO’s would register the labourers and make them aware about welfare schemes. Harinder Hira, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries, Labour and Employment stressed upon the need to simplify the rules and process of various programmes and schemes so that maximum number of workers could be benefitted. She directed the officers to hasten the registration process of workers. Mohan Chauhan, Labour Commissioner detailed out the various activities being undertaken by the Board. S.K. Kaushal, Secretary, H.P. Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board proposed vote of thanks. In the meeting A.C. Dogra, Principal Secretary, Law, officers of IPH, State Electricity Board Ltd. and representatives of Employees Associations were present in the meeting.
