Horticulture Minister Narinder Bragta meets Chairman of Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) Asit Tripathi at New Delhi and urged for financial assistance for proposed vegetable market, Parala in Shimla district. He requested for setting up of fruit package and grading centre at Rohru, Jubbal and Chopal in Shimla district to facilitate the vegetable and fruit growers of the area. He also urged for opening cold stores in the State so that the fresh produce be available on demand to other places of the country.
Minister also urged opening of national level training centre for farmers and horticulturists of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Uttrakhand. He also requested for liberal financial assistance for setting up anti hail guns in the State so that the produce could be protected from hails and weather vagaries.
