Food and Civil Supplies Minister Ramesh Dhawala held meeting with the organization of Himachal Pradesh Cooperative Societies and discussed various issues mainly pertaining to enhancement of commission of retailers under State Subsidy Scheme. The Minister assured that the commission of retailers for sale of Kerosene oil to APL families under the Subsidy Scheme would be placed before the cabinet for consideration. Besides, the matter of enhancing the same on Levy sugar would be placed before GoI. The minister directed the concerned officers of the department to prepare proposal to be placed before the centre in this regard.
The President of Organization of Co-operative Societies Des Raj and other representatives urged the minister to bring more transparency and fix responsibilities of the officers concerned under Public Distribution System so as to benefit the consumers.
The minister also directed the officers to conduct inspections of availability and distribution of goods to the people and take stringent measures if any misappropriation was found as such.
