Residents adamant to save Jogini waterfall, protested against proposed hydel project

Residents of the Vashisht and its surrounding protested against the 1-MW micro hydel power generation project at Jogini waterfall by Water Millers Power Company, Shamshi. Protesters were demanding for the cancellation of the project as its construction will mar the beauty of enchanting Jogini waterfall. Marking the protest all shops and business establishments in the area remained closed and protester marched to Manali and submitted a memorandum to the Manali police station and the Manali SDM. Protesters also dispatched a copy of it to the Chief Minister, local MLA Govind Singh Thakur, Kullu DC, Kullu SP, Manali DSP, secretary and director of the Him Urja, Shimla.
