Himachal police has busted multi-crore money collection racket that is being run by the NGO from Kullu, Ma Shakti Savam Sevi Sangathan. Police has named Hemraj main accused in it and he is still absconding from the arrest. Accused were running this NGO like a parallel financial company as it had opened the RD scheme in the bank without any permission from the RBI. Police has lodged an FIR under Section 420, IPC, against Director Hemraj at Mandi Sadar police station after NGO members protested against it. Members of the NGO have lodged a complaint with the DC, Mandi, and police is searching for the main accused. In the record of the NGO, accused had collected Rs 1 crore from over 2,000 members and 200 coordinators from Mandi. After the complaint, accused Hemraj closed his office at Servari at Kullu and its branch offices as well.
