The International Conference on Advances in Computing and Communication was hosted by the National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur and was inaugurated by Chief Guest Prof. Timothy A Gonsalves, (Director IIT Mandi). In his inaugural speech he messaged the audience to carry out research and innovation activity for the benefit of society. He advised the researcher to explore various area of the inter-disciplinary research so that the benefit of the ICT technology can reach masses. In present era of telecommunication the people can be empowered by making them self aligned and contribute toward the society. At the end he concluded Prosperity for all Indians requires design by Indian engineers. Design is an art, acquired by both teaching and learning.
In the morning session tutorials were conducted at three different places. In Conference hall-I Prof. (Mrs.) Saroj Kaushik (IIT Delhi) delivered lecture on “inferences in Fuzzy Logic”, in hall-II Prof. Y.D.S. Arya (Director Invertis University Bareilly) had delivered lecture on “Converting of High Level Language Code to Machine level language Code” and in hall-III Dr.Teemu Santonen from Finland had delivered lecture on “Virtual internal ship collaboration based on ICT Technology (massidea.org)”.
During the conference, proceeding was released by Chief Guest along with Prof. R.C Joshi (IIT Roorkee), Prof. I.K. Bhatt (MNNIT Allahabad), Prof. (Mrs.) Saroj Kaushik (IIT Delhi), Dr. Teemu Santonen from Finland, Prof. R. L. Sharma (Director NIT Hamirpur), Prof. A. S. Singha (Registrar NIT Hamirpur), Prof. L. K. Awasthi (HOD CC NIT Hamirpur), Prof. (Mrs.) Kamlesh Dutta (HOD CSED NIT Hamirpur).
Prof. R.L. Sharma, Director NIT Hamirpur also signed MoU with Laura University, Finland. The objective of this MOU is to facilitate international academic exchange and student mobility, to develop academic and scientific relationships, and in support of collaborative research activities.
Prof. L. K. Awasthi appraised the gathering about the conference. 370 papers had been received for ICACC’11 from around 5 countries, 147 papers were selected based on expert review, and were presented in the conference. The conference is attended by more than 150 delegates from India and abroad.
Prof. (Mrs.) Saroj Kaushik, from IIT Delhi delivered a keynote lecture on “Soft Computing Paradigm”.She talked about the issues in generic algorithm and Swarm Computing. How to create chromosomes and what type of encoding to choose? How to perform Crossover and Mutation, the two basic operators of GA etc. Prof. R. C. Joshi, from IIT Roorkee delivered a keynote lecture on “Issues in Cloud Computing”. He addressed the Research Gap and Scope of work in cloud computing.
After a day full of technical talks and presentations, ICACC’11 followed with the conference photo session and cultural programs performed by SPIC MACAY in the evening.
