Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said that the State Government was making efforts to provide road connectivity to all those villages having a population of 250 by the end of current year.
He said it in Sunni, and also dedicated developmental projects worth Rs. 25.50 Crore for the region. These projects included inauguration of Government Degree College building constructed at a cost of Rs. 11 crore, bridge at Thali on Satluj River constructed at a cost of Rs. 6.53 crore, bridge on Sainj Khadd constructed at a cost of Rs. 7.52 crore. He also flagged off HRTC bus on newly constructed link road at Kadog constructed at a cost of Rs. 38.34 lacs.
Addressing a public meeting on a occasion, Prem Kumar Dhumal said that free health checkups of all the children of Government Schools was being conducted free of cost under the 2nd phase of Mukhya Mantri Vidhyarthi Swasthya Karyakram besides providing them de-worming pills free of cost. He said that Pandit Deen Dayal Kissan Bagwan Samridhi Yojna had ushered prosperity in the rural areas of the State and strengthened the economy of the farmers. He said that State Government was providing 80 percent subsidy for setting up Poly Houses and Micro Irrigation Schemes under this scheme which had gone a long way in facilitating the farming community. He said that the State Government had provided 190 crore subsidy to prevent rise in the rates of electricity in the State and was providing the electricity to domestic consumers on old rates. He said that all the Ration Card Holders of the State were being provided three pulses, two edible oils and salt on subsidized rates by providing subsidy of Rs. 140 crore.
Prof. Dhumal said that the State Government was implementing “Beti Hai Anmol” Scheme for women empowerment and added that Degree College at Sunni would also go a long way in empowering the girls in the area by providing education. He said that the budget on education sector had been increased by making a provision of Rs. 3459 crore. He said that the allocation for the sector at national level was 4.85 percent where as it was 19 percent in the State which speaks volume of the concern of the State Government towards this vital sector. He said that education was very important for the development of the society.
Chief Minister appealed the people to take benefit of various welfare schemes being implemented by the Government for the welfare of common man. He said that “Atal Swasthya Sewa” had proved a boon in saving lives of the people in emergent situations and added that free ambulance service was being provided to patients free of cost under the scheme.
Prof. Dhumal said that free school uniform was being provided to students of Government Schools from Ist to 10th standard by spending Rs. 65 crore twice a year besides stitching charges of Rs. 100 per uniform under Atal School Uniform Scheme. He said that this would bring uniformity among the students by instilling confidence in them. He further said that uniform would be distributed to the students by the end of this month.
Chief Minister announced Rs. 3,38,570 for equipping the classes with essential furniture and Rs. 1.5 lac for other expenses. He also assured that science and commerce classes would be started in the college. He also announced Rs. three lacs for Children Park and Rs. five lacs for community building. He also directed the officers to explore the possibilities of shifting BMO office from Mashobra to Sunni. He also assured to consider other demands sympathetically.
Earlier Chief Minister was awarded “Aadhunik Srijan Samman” for State’s achievements under his dynamic leadership by the Chief of Research Media Vision. Prof. Dhumal also listened to public grievances in the local rest house.
Ishwar Dass Dhiman, Education Minister thanked the Chief Minister for deputing adequate teaching staff in schools for ensuring efficiency and bringing about qualitative improvement in education sector. He said that the previous Government had opened schools without making budget provisions and infrastructure whereas the present Government had been enhancing budget provisions for education sector every year.
Virender Kashyap, MP congratulated the Chief Minister for the achievements of the State Government and winning 67 awards at National level. He said that the Government was making efforts to provide basic facilities to every village. He said that the common man was affected by the rising prices due to the wrong polices of the Centre Government whereas they were under check during the tenure of former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Sher Singh Chauhan, District BJP Chief and Chairman Agriculture Development Bank also spoke on the occasion. Veena Thakur, Chairperson State Social Welfare Board welcomed the Chief Minister. Tota Ram Verma, Chairman BJP Mandal apprised the Chief Minister of the local demands. Suresh Bhardwaj, Hira Lal, MLA’s, Bhagat Ram, former MLA, Gyan Chandel, APSC Chairman, Ganesh Dutt, Vice Chairman HIMUDA, BC Badaliya, ADC, Dr. Dinkar Burothoki, Director Education, other senior officers and prominent persons were present on the occasion.
