A deputation of Lahaul-Spiti BJP headed by Dr. Ram Lal Markandey, MLA meets Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal here today. The deputation thanked the Chief Minister for according priority to the development of tribal areas by enhancing the budget allocation under Tribal Sub Plan, exempting luxury tax for ten years in tribal areas, opening of Fire Service Station at Keylong and filling up vacant posts in the district. The deputation also requested the Chief Minister to provide support price to potato crop in the district.
Chief Minister gave a patient hearing to the demands and assured sympathetic consideration in order to facilitate the people of the district. He said that interests of the tribal people would be protected and directed the GAD to ensure more helicopter services to these areas besides extending helicopter service to the newly constructed helipad at Gondhala. Later, the deputation also met State BJP Chief Satpal Satti.
