Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Ramesh Dhawala said that supply of subsidised essential commodities and cooking gas would soon be ensured to the areas, which received heavy snowfall. He was presiding over a review meeting convened to discuss supply of essential commodities being provided to the consumers on subsidised rates.
The Minister directed the officers to clear the backlog of food items to these snow fed areas well before the Shivratri festival. He said that supply had been restored today and these would be provided to the consumers at earliest.
Dhawala said that consumers were being provided standardised pulses. He said that Corporation was buying pulses and refined oil from PEC Limited, STC and MMTC, Government of India undertakings. He said that a high powered Committee was supervising the whole process from carriage, processing, and packing to ensuring highest quality of pulses. The Minister directed the District Controllers to review the supply and distribution of essential commodities regularly.
