(Mohan Lal Relingpa) The precious life of Principal working in Govt. Sr. Sec. School Kolong, a remotest village in Lahul, could have been saved if medicines were brought in time and better facilities were provided before closure of Rohtang Pass. Though, Lal Chand a resident of Jahalma village was shifted to the Kullu Hospital by a privately arranged helicopter but unfortunately lack of proper medical facilities he died shortly after reaching there. Family members lambasted on Govt. for not posting any specialist doctor in tribal areas. According to Dr. Shamsher singh CMO, Lal chand was suffering from diabetes and his sugar level was very high therefore he had a heart stroke, lost his consciousness that resulting his demise.
It is not a first time when people in the Lahul valley died because of the insufficient medical facilities. In the winter because of the closer of Rohtang Pass, Lahaul Valley cut from the rest of the world for more then 4-5 months and it become difficult to provide sufficient facilities to the people.
