In the 205th meeting of Board of Directors of H.P. Khadi Gramodyog Board meeting, Industries Minister Kishan Kapoor said that H.P. Khadi and Gramodyog Board had sponsored 196 projects worth Rs. 1019 lakh to various banks for funding under Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme. He said that a provision for disbursing margin money worth Rs. 279 lakh to entrepreneurs had also been made during the current financial year which would generate employment to 1173 persons.
Minister said that the 1475 persons were benefitted during the previous financial year through 14 units under various activities like wool spinning and woolen cloth finishing. He directed the officers to make concerted efforts to achieve the targets within stipulated time. Earlier, Additional Chief Secretary Harinder Hira, welcomed the Minister. Directors of Board, R.K. Sharma, Chief Executive Officer, H.P. Khadi and Gramodyog Board and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
