While presiding over a meeting of State Civil Supplies Corporation, Ramesh Dhawala, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister said here today that the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department would soon be setting up a laboratory to check the quality of wheat flour and the machinery for the same had already been procured by the Department. He said that this would hasten the process of quality checking of wheat flour.
Dhawala said that awareness campaigns relating to the ration cards be organized for Panchayat Secretaries by District Controllers in their respective districts. He directed the District Controllers to undertake the inspection of record of ration cards of three Panchayats each every month and to ensure the speedy disposal of grievances of the consumers. He further cautioned the traders against selling of adulterated food items and said that strict action would be taken against the defaulters.
The Minister said that Public Distribution System and Subsidized Scheme of the State Government were unique and the best in the country and efforts should be made to make the services better and more consumer friendly. He asked the officers to work out the possibilities of allocation of wheat flour instead of wheat being given to the BPL and Antodaya families at present.
Principal Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Prem Kumar, Director, State Civil Supplies Corporation Padam Singh Chauhan, Amar Singh Rathore, Director, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department were present at the meeting.
