Shimla: To keep youth away from the evil of drug addiction, two teachers have been appointed as Bal Mitra in every school. Bal Mitra will be responsible to keep vigil on the activities of each student.
Stating this here today, the Chairperson of HP State Child Rights Protection Commission Kiran Dhanta said that the Commission is carrying forward the campaign of state government with an objective of ‘Aao dosti neebhayen, nashe ko door bhagayen’.
Dhanta said that school students have an important role in this campaign. Any student can give information to concerned Bal Mitra teacher regarding any addiction or trouble his or her friend was facing.
Chairperson is of opinion that getting information of the child’s bad habits on time will be helpful in providing them proper counseling which can protect Childs life from getting spoiled.
Kiran Dhanta said that the identity of student providing information to Bal Mitra will not be disclosed. Such information can be given to State Child Rights Protection Commission also. The Commission is committed to protecting children from the evil of drug addiction. Parents and guardians can also give information to any child Bal Mitra or child rights protection commission.
