New Delhi: An initiative to provide a platform to the youth, especially school and college students to work closely with law makers with the sole aim to create a safe and respectable environment for women of India, Hamirpur MP Anurag Thakur along with 30 other MP from across party lines launched the ‘HOW MP Connect: Redefining Leadership’ initiative of the Honour Our Women (HOW) Foundation today.

M Venkaiah Naidu, Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs & Urban Development, Housing & Poverty Alleviation and Rajiv Pratap Rudy Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs & Skills Development extended their support to the initiative. Anurag Thakur is a founder of the Honour Our Women Foundation.
HOW Foundation will work closely with MPs to raise these issues in their speeches, public functions and media, social media interactions.
M Venkaiah Naidu appreciated the efforts of the HOW Foundation and said grassroots initiatives with the involvement of the youth would help bring about transformative changes. He advocated strongly for the endeavor of HOW Foundation to work conduct self defense classes, health awareness workshops and legal awareness, social inclusion sessions in the MP’s constituency.
Rajiv Pratap Rudy welcomed this unique initiative and assured his full support. He also encouraged the idea of citizens and parliamentarians joining hands to do social impact projects in the MP’s constituency.
Anurag Thakur said that as law makers and as citizens of India, women safety and empowerment has been at the forefront for the development of our nation. He further said that while lot was being done by the government and various organisations, the cause would not reach its desired impact unless we engage, educate and empower the youth in this process of bringing about this change. He said

Honour Our Women (HOW) Foundation was founded in December 2013 to commemorate the Nirbhaya incident and to begin an initiative that would work towards changing mindsets and creating awareness about how women are perceived in India.
