Annoyed with the statement of former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal about the deteriorating law and order situation in the state, Irrigation & Public Health Minister Vidya Stokes, Transport Minister G.S. Bali, Industry Minister Mukesh Agnihotri and Urban Development Minister Sudhir Sharma ridiculed and accused Dhumal for resorting to unfounded statements for sake of ulterior political motives.
In their joint press statement, the Ministers asked former Chief Minister to speak with responsibility and avoid bizarre remarks in the better interest of the people of the State.
Cabinet Ministers maintained that state Youth Congress workers throughout the country were protesting against the Land Acquisition Ordinance of the Union Government in a peaceful and democratic manner and same was done here by the State youth congress workers on the directions of the party high command with a view to air the voice of the poor people and farmers of the State.
They said that Youth Congress had already intimated to Dhumal about their peaceful procession and instead of taking the memorandum he instigated the Party workers to disrupt the peaceful procession and overall Dhumal was engineering the whole episode, Ministers alleged.
The Ministers maintained that the law and order situation was very good and one of best in the country. The present government was according top most priority to maintain peace and law and order situation but it was surprising that Dhumal was raising fingers over it.
They said that Prem Kumar Dhumal had remained indulged in hatching conspiracies against the state government since the first day of its formation with a cheap motive to destabilize the government. He not only tried to mislead the people of the state but also his party men by taking up such issues which were unsubstantial and meaningless. It seemed that feeling the heat of the on-going inquiries in to various acts of omissions and commissions during the previous BJP government especially himself, Dhumal was resorting to such cheap tactics.
Cabinet Ministers stated that law would take its own course and Prem Kumar Dhumal should refrain from misleading the people and putting pressure on the investigative agencies.
