Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh assured to explore possibilities for construction of girls hostel at government senior secondary school, Portmore in Shimla.
The Chief Minister was here to attend the Annual Function of the school. He said that as large number of girls hailing from far-flung areas of the State wants to pursue their studies in this school, therefore hostel was a necessity here in this school.
He announced to cover school campus with fence besides constructing the water harvesting structure. He also promised to provide adequate funds for laying roof top over the primary school building within the campus.
The Chief Minister released the school magazine ‘Vatika’ and also distributed prizes to the students who excelled in academics and other curricular activities.
Earlier, Principal of the school Nisha Bhaloni welcomed and honoured the Chief Minister. She also presented the Annual School Report on the occasion.
Mayor Municipal Corporation Shimla Sanjay Chauhan, Principal Secretary Education P.C. Dhiman, Director Elementary Education Ashok Sharma, Additional Director Education R.K. Pruthi were present on the occasion amongst the school faculty and children of the school.
