Serious to make hill’s roads protected for commuters, Himachal Transport Minister GS Bali has urged the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to grant funds for raising crash barriers on black spots alongside roads above an altitude of 4,000 feet.
While interacting with media at Chamba, Transport Minister said the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) conducting road audit to carry out a survey for improving the geometry of road constructions.
Bali said that on the basis of CSIR report, the state government will initiate necessary road-safety measures for road construction.
Transport Minister ensured to provide all necessary clearance including forest for road construction and advised officials to follow strict norms while constructing roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.
He announced to induct 28 new buses to the Chamba depot and also promised introduction of Langera-Shimla and Dalhousie-Bharmour direct buses within a couple of days.
