Shimla: After Himachal High Court jolt to Private Universities and Technical Institutions of the state, now the Himachal Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Commission has swung into action and mulling to impose hefty fines on erring institutions.
The Regulatory Commission has made clear that institutions, who made admissions in violation of norms, would be penalised as per the law laid by the government.
To ensure transparency in admission in technical courses in all Private Universities and other Private Institutions, the government had notified to enroll students through the common entrance test (CET). However, gross irregularities were found in the admission process as large number of ineligible candidates had been allowed admissions by these institutions.
The Regulatory Commission claimed institutions had admitted thousands of students in various courses viz. B-Tech, M-Tech, B Pharmacy, M Pharmacy and MBA without necessary entrance test and now it’s likely to take stringent action against them.
